About
Santa Ana Rodeo
Born in Boulder, CO, Santa Ana Rodeo crafts music that always hits, somewhere between grit and groove, heart and heat. This vibrant group has been electrifying audiences and lighting up stages from house parties to sold out venues, building a loyal following across the Denver-Boulder Area. Influenced by musical legends like The Backseat Lovers, Gary Clark Jr., and Jimi Hendrix, Santa Ana Rodeo's sound fuses indie rock swagger with bluesy undertones, and always delivering raw, live energy.
The band found its roots during their sophomore year at the University of Colorado Boulder when Lander McNamee, Oskar Pederson, and Jude Shaw came together with a shared love of late-night jam sessions, witty lyrics, and the kind of songs that sound even better live. With addition to bassist Malcolm Holman and a rotating cast of friends like Rome Sutton and Travis Occoa joining on stage, Santa Ana Rodeo has evolved from a college jam to a powerhouse live act, earning their spot on stages like Boulder's Fox Theatre and opening for artists such as The Takes, The Dirty Turkeys, and Sarah and the Sundays.
In April 2025, they released their debut EP, recorded at Side 3 Studies in Denver, featuring standout tracks like "Snake Catcher," "Blind Man's Waltz," and hit single "Half Baked." The record has received an overwhelming 37,000 streams across platforms, bolstered by glowing reviews and word-of-mouth buzz. Now, the Rodeo is taking that momentum on the road, playing over 30 shows across Colorado, Utah, Oregon, and California, bringing their signature blend of passion and chaos across the West Coast.
With a full album in the works, Santa Ana Rodeo is just getting started. Follow along on Instagram for tour updates, new releases, and a front-row seat to wherever the Rodeo rides next.
Oskar the Drummer
The Heart and Soul
Oskar, the "tall and cool" drummer, walks the line between tension and energy. With rhythm that keeps you guessing and always asking for more, he is the fuel that powers the rest of the bandmates and keeps the crowd moving.
Jude the Lead Guitarist
The Guitar Guru
Jude, the living embodiment of a guitar, plays melodies that make even statues weep. His list of all time things include 1) Drinking water, 2) Sitting down, and 3) eating. Pretty much, whadd up, hella.
Lander the Vocalist and Rhythm Guitar
The Engineer
Lander, the mastermind behind the magical songs we call our own. He combines his musical skills with his ingenuity to bring infectious energy our audiences. He engineers songs that have you singing at the top of your lungs with all the windows down.
Malcolm the Bass Player
The Funky Face Bassist
Malcolm, the bass player with a stank face so dirty, it was on the cover of Vogue. His grooves are deeper than swimming pools before 1980s regulations, making audiences move uncontrollably to his incredible feel.
